Liz DeStefano, Weekday Preschool Director

Liz grew up in Allen, Texas, within a loving Christian household. Her family was devout and actively involved in church, attending services on Sundays and Wednesdays, participating in activities like Awana, Bible quizzing, and youth group events. From a young age, Liz had a compassionate nature and enjoyed brightening the days of those who were feeling down or unwell. She never hesitated to lend a caring hand to those who were emotionally hurting or in need of extra love and support.

During her high school years, she met what she considers her greatest gift - her future husband, Aaron. They were best friends throughout high school and continued their relationship during college, despite being in a long-distance situation. Liz pursued a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, while Aaron attended ROTC with the Army in Maine, working towards his degree.

Eventually, their journey brought them to Fort Carson in Colorado, where Liz pursued a master's degree in Christian counseling at Colorado Christian University. During her studies, she delved into subjects like childhood development, conflict resolution skills, and family dynamics. After completing her education, Liz explored various counseling roles, including in-patient crisis counseling, domestic violence and sexual assault counseling, marriage retreat leadership, premarital counseling, and private practice. However, when she became pregnant with her second child, Liz decided that she wanted to prioritize her family and be more hands-on in raising her children.

As a result, she chose to stay home, cherishing the opportunity to watch her young ones grow and actively participate in their development. Her children attended FBC Weekday Preschool, and Liz found immense love and support within this ministry.

Presently, Liz feels privileged to work alongside incredibly talented women in her supportive church community, actively involved in the Weekday Preschool ministry. She eagerly looks forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the Weekday Preschool program, where she can combine her passion for education and her compassionate nature to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families.
