Upward Sports

The purpose of our sports ministry is to provide a fun, safe place for kids to learn sports fundamentals and build their faith. We want to provide a positive environment in which we can use sports as a tool to minister God’s word to both adults and children.

Children ages Pre-K3 through 5th grade can get involved in the Upward league. We offer Upward soccer and basketball.

FBCF Kids Ministry

Ages Birth – 6th Grade

Our mission at FBCF Kids Ministry is to lead every generation to KNOW and FOLLOW Jesus. We LOVE kids and are passionate about helping them experience Jesus in a fun and interactive environment. We create experiences that will allow your child to grow in their faith. FBCF Kids is founded on FAITHFUN, and FRIENDS! Every child will have the opportunity to explore the truths of the Bible in an engaging atmosphere as they grow in their journey to KNOW and FOLLOW Jesus.

Sunday School

Sunday School occurs each Sunday at 9:45am for Infants - 6th Grade while their parents attend an adult class. Infants are welcome as early as twelve weeks, yet most are 4 to 6 months before they attend. All classes are staffed with loving FBC Farmersville volunteers that have completed a Ministry Safe background check and training video. Classes are age appropriate in nature, interactive, and designed to allow kids to build friendships while learning how to know and follow Jesus! Please come to the children’s welcome desk; someone would love to show you how to check your children in and get involved.

Classes are also available for birth - 4yr—olds during the 8:30am and 11am worship service.

Kids In The Pew

Educational We believe in family worship on Sunday mornings. Your child will begin attending worship with you when they turn 5 years old/enter Kindergarten. As you enter the sanctuary, Kindergarten - 2nd graders may pick up a clipboard with age-appropriate activities for the sermon time, and 3rd - 6th graders may pick up a sermon journal to take notes during the sermon. Children are encouraged to participate in singing, praying, and giving an offering, and then use these additional activities during sermon time.

Route 456

Route 456 Ministry, designed just for 4th/5th, and 6th graders, meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45am and Wednesday nights at 5:55-7:30pm (during AWANA). Kids use an older kids format and curriculum and have a variety of activities to assist them in developing their relationship with Jesus, enhancing their ability to make Christian friends, and preparing them as they begin to transition to the student ministry (7th - 12th grade).

Awana

AWANA meets each Wednesday night from 5:55 to 7:30 pm.  Join us for Family Dinner at 5pm in the gym, and then kids 2yr (by September 1) - 3rd Grade enjoy games, Bible memory, teaching, and friends!

Meeting at the same time is our Route 456 Ministry, whose goal is for kids to transition from Kids Ministry into their preteen/teenage years. These kids enjoy snacks, a game room, a large group format, games, monthly outings, mission trips, and more.

Weekday Preschool

First Baptist Church Farmersville Weekday Preschool program offers an outstanding educational program for children ages 2 yrs - PreK. We have been committed to providing excellent childhood services for over 50 years. We offer a nurturing and educational environment where children grow and learn about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. FBC Weekday Preschool is a ministry of First Baptist Farmersville that seeks to provide a nurturing Christian environment in which every child can grow and develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

Our weekday preschool program believes in fostering a strong foundation of Christian values from an early age. Our age-appropriate curriculum integrates biblical principles into daily developmental activities, allowing children to develop a deeper understanding of our Christian faith. Through stories, songs, and interactive lessons, the FBC Weekday Preschool program instills values such as love, kindness, forgiveness, and gratitude in the hearts of our children.

Our program is proud to offer play-based learning. Play is the primary way that children learn and develop ideas about the world. Play helps with the development of skills needed for critical thinking and leadership. Play also helps children become problem solvers and gain confidence in learning. Play is not a break from learning-it’s the way young children learn.

More From Kids Ministry

  • A variety of activities are offered seasonally throughout the year to encourage your children and family in their faith walk.

Parent Commissioning: Twice a year, a parent commissioning service is offered for new parents that desire to commit themselves to rear their children to know and follow Jesus.

Kindergarten Bible Day: Once a year, Kindergarteners are presented with a Bible from the church to encourage them to be in God’s word as they begin to learn how to read.

Summer Ministries: Include preteen camp, Vacation Bible School, Adventure Week, Preschool Camp, Summer Musical Activities for Kids (S.M.A.K.), and 1st & 2nd grade camp.

Fall Festival: Children and Families are invited to participate in our annual Fall Festival each October with trunk or treat, rides, food, and candy to get to know our community.

  • Come get out of the house and let your kids play in a safe environment while you get to chat with other moms in the area. Meet at the FBC playground on the first Monday of each month from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

  • The Homeschool Co-op meets at FBC Farmersville on Friday mornings from 9:00-12:00. The fall semester runs from late August through early November and the spring semester is early January through the end of March.

Some classes are free and others have a minimal supply fee. Classes vary greatly each semester depending on what the parents want to teach. Examples of past classes are Spanish, Games, Biology, Computer Programming, Watercolors, Drawing, Home Decor, Electricity, etc.

After your first semester, you are required to offer to teach at least 1 class. There is a nursery for babies and preK classes for younger kiddos. If you have a baby, you will be in the nursery with them. There are always 2 adults in a classroom, so if you aren't teaching or in the nursery then you will be a 2nd adult in a class.
