Nancy Gilmer, Missions Director
Nancy grew up in Plano, Texas and graduated from Baylor University in 1986. She served with the IMB as a journeyman in Brazil, 1986-88. She and Dan married in 1991 and their family joined FBC Farmersville in 1995 after moving to the area. They have three children and two grandchildren.
Nancy received her MA Missiology degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in 2020 and will complete her ThM in 2024. She currently serves as the part-time missions director at FBC Farmersville.
Nancy has served on the accreditation review committee for the Missiology Department of SWBTS in 2019 and the Resolutions Committee for the SBTC in 2022. She also currently serves on the operating board of the Collin Baptist Association.
Nancy has developed a long-term partnership with a church revitalization in Oklahoma City. She plans and executes mission trips both internationally and domestically, including those for FBC’s longer-term engagements in West Africa and Puerto Rico. She desires the church to know and go to the nations through NAMB and the IMB. Church members who understand that they are a part of the great commission not only in their town but around the globe is a large part of her ministry. Praying and financially supporting those who go is a goal she has for every church member.
When she isn’t busy at work or studying for class, Nancy enjoys her grandchildren, walking, watercolor painting, reading missionary biographies, and tending her bees.
